The TRIC project partners gathered on 27 February for a joint Foresight workshop implemented in a hybrid format. The aim was to bring together participants from different parts of Europe and create a shared understanding of the future of learning and skills. In total, nearly 50 participants explored future‑oriented educational themes in nine working groups across Europe.

The hybrid format connected local and joint working

Turku University of Applied Sciences was responsible for designing and facilitating the online part of the workshop. After that, each partner organisation continued the work in their own settings with the support of local facilitators. The shared structure and working materials ensured that the content progressed in the same way across all countries.

The hybrid model proved to be effective. It enabled simultaneous participation from different parts of Europe while still allowing room for local discussions and perspectives.

Key themes of the workshop

During the day, participants explored three central areas of futures thinking:

  • The concept of uncertainty and transition points

  • Foresight thinking and future scenarios

  • Developing future learner profiles based on scenarios

Inspiring keynote on future scenarios

At the beginning of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to hear Mauri Kantola’s keynote on future scenarios. The presentation provided a strong foundation for the day’s work.

Thanks to the partners and facilitators

The success of the workshop was above all the result of the partners’ collective effort. Each organisation was responsible for facilitating its own group, which made the work smooth and participatory. We warmly thank everyone involved. This would not have been possible without you!

The participating organisations were:

Turku University of Applied Sciences, Kukunori, MARKED with Purpose, Innocamp Poland, Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Erhvervsakademi SydVest, Business College Syd, IES Bernat Guinovart, Jugend am Werk, University for Continuing Education Krems and the University of Gdańsk.

Workshop insights support the continuation of the TRIC project

The active participation and discussions during the workshop brought forward insights that meaningfully advanced the work of the TRIC project.
