The objectives of communication and dissemination in the TRIC project are to maximize the visibility and impact of TRIC results, support the uptake of the tools and methods developed within the project, and build a community of practices around uncertainty competence.
Project partners contribute by producing content and disseminating it through multiple channels within their own networks, considering their target groups and local contexts. This ensures that TRIC messages reach audiences widely at both national and European levels. Another perspective to this is to create opportunities for reflection, sense making and emerging action around uncertainty theme.
How did we get started?
In the early phase of the project, our focus was on building the foundations for communication and dissemination. We have established the project website and launched key social media channels: LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok.
However, engaging a diverse European audience across Instagram and TikTok requires a nuanced approach. User demographics and search behaviors on these platforms vary significantly from country to country. To ensure our message truly resonates, it is vital that our partner organizations co-create and adapt content for youth in their local languages. This localized approach makes the content far more relatable and accessible.
In terms of visual identity, we shift away from polished corporate aesthetics. Instead, our social media channels focus on authentic, real-life imagery that reflects the true experiences of young people. Through this inviting and open communication style, we encourage youth to explore the TRIC project, engage with our community, and take proactive steps toward developing their own uncertainty competence.
Blog posts play a central role in our communication. They allow us to translate research and development work into accessible language, share lessons learned, and provide more in-depth content for a wider audience. Social media supports this by directing audiences to the website and blog content.

Key learnings & tips for others from the TRIC team:
Define your target groups clearly. Start by identifying who you want to reach. It will guide your channel and content choises.
Use multi-channel approach and combine different channels to maximise impact.
Remember to tag all your project and stakeholder partners to your posts.
Reposting is ok, when you have new message to go along. Find a suitable pace in posting new content.
TikTok is king at the moment in reaching “out of the box” contacts. How many organisations use this platform?
Content can be reused and adapted, allowing the same theme to be tailored for different channels.
Sharing is caring! If you or your organisation does not care to repost even after tagging, you need to convice your partners of the importance of shared communications tasks.
Many people have challenges in understanding text. Think about illustrations and videos to add understandable content to your message.
Online and onsite gatherings and meetings are opportunities to create shared understading and make conscious decisions. Create these to create trust in your communications community.
What’s next?
Looking ahead, our goal is to ensure that communication and dissemination activities do not remain limited to the project duration but contribute to long-term impact and the development of a sustainable community of practice.
